Detailed Description
Removal of a fallen Live Oak tree here: 33.529731, -117.407950
On this 2nd attempt, using a 13-inch saw, I was able to complete the cut in about 10-minutes.
It was a quick matter to leverage the trunk out of the trail corridor, using a long handled shovel which I had brought for just
this purpose. Removing all the debris from the tread and done.
After a brief rest and trail snack, Sharon and I decided to hike the San Mateo Creek Trail south to the junction with the Tenaja Trail, and then return back Fisherman’s Camp, and back up to the truck parked at the top of the Fisherman’s Camp Trail.
The San Mateo Creek Trail, while the trail tread is in good shape, is slightly overgrown the entire length from Fisherman’s
Camp to the junction with Tenaja Trail.
The Poison Oak is thriving where the trail is down in the drainage. :-)
Additional news is that the home made trail signs fabricated by Mike Mcdermott are still in place.
