Stewardship of the Santa Ana Mountains
Located between L.A. and San Diego, the Santa Ana Mountain Range is the largest intact natural landscape that remains in coastal Southern California. It covers over 700 square miles, and the majority is in the Cleveland National Forest.
Our Mission
Warriors of the Santa Anas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting responsible recreation, preserving public access, and rebuilding and maintaining trails in the Trabuco Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest.
Our Vision
Our long-term goal is to regain access to the many trails that were closed following the Holy and Airport Fires of 2018 and 2024, respectively. We are committed to working with the Cleveland National Forest to rebuild and reopen these trails to the public. These include Holy Jim, Trabuco, West Horsethief, and San Juan Trail, among other deep backcountry singletracks.
Who We Are
We are a group of hard-working volunteers who love the Santa Ana Mountains. We’ve spent countless hours on the singletracks and fire roads that crisscross the range, and we are dedicated to the care and maintenance of this incredible and unique landscape.
What We Do
We work in collaboration with the Cleveland National Forest and other trail stewardship groups in Orange County to advocate for trail access and promote responsible recreation.
In addition to organizing trail work and other stewardship efforts in our local mountains, the Warriors of the Santa Anas hosts monthly social rides. We also put on annual events including the VisionQuest and Counting Coup.
