New Org, VisionQuest Recap

Greetings and Salutations!

I’ve been radio silent for a while, as for the past couple of months I’ve been distracted with VisionQuest planning and organizing. I am happy to report we had a wonderful and successful VisionQuest on Saturday, April 25, 2026. This was our first VisionQuest under the new organization of The Warriors of the Santa Anas!

In this newsletter is a note about what our new organization is about, a write up on the 2026 VisionQuest, and an invite to join us for a ride and clean up for tomorrow, Saturday.

The Warriors of the Santa Anas: A New Santa Anas Stewardship Organization

I spoke about The Warriors of the Santa Anas organization the morning of the event before we began our ride. I’d like to reiterate that we at The Warriors of the Santa Anas are honored to continue the stewardship of these mountains in the following ways:

  1. We are a new 501(c)(3) non-profit incorporated in January this year. As a 501(c)(3) we have no political mission. We don’t concern ourselves with politics, as that divides us, whereas the love for these mountains unites us.

  2. We are not an exclusive mountain bike club with membership dues. We are a trail work and stewardship non-profit for public and charitable purposes. There are no memberships, associate memberships or legacy members.

  3. To raise money for our cause, it is likely that future VisionQuests will be permitted and available to the public for a fee. This year was donation-based because we were unable to obtain a permit. For now, this is the only major bike event we’ll host, aside from free public social rides. If you appreciate the work we do, I encourage you to support us through a one-time or recurring donation.

  4. We are inclusive of all Santa Ana trail user groups: hikers, trail runners and, of course, mountain bikers. Hopefully, in the future, we can include a trail running course in the VisionQuest.

2026 VisionQuest Recap

The Warriors of the Santa Anas have adopted the annual tradition of the VisionQuest. This ride is about challenging yourself, connecting with nature, enjoying the lands we maintain, and sharing in this collective experience with each other.
