Detailed Description

We had 10 volunteers today, 6 of whom pedaled up from the Maple Springs Visitors Center at 6:30 am.

We all reconvened at the eastern end of the saddle on the North Main Divide, where the Old Main Divide rejoins the current North Main Divide (33.717333, -117.538384).

During the trail work, two groups of hikers, each group consisting of two males ascended the trail, the first group donated 5-minutes of time, assisting Keith in sawing on the downed tree. They were attempting to summit the Peak. Keith gave them one of the new club business cards, designed by Darshan. Later, as we were exiting, driving back down from the saddle, we saw them on their way back down and exchanged some pleasantries before we continued our descent.

The second group of hikers we saw as we were just hiking back down to the truck, having finished our work. They didn’t look to be dressed appropriately for the hike, but were making good time on the ascent.

After returning to the staging area in Silverado Canyon, Keith, Estelle and Cory enjoyed a great lunch and social hour at the Silverado Cafe.

All the pedalers descended Buckthorn from Modjeska Peak’s shoulder. From Four Corners, Darshan took John, Ryan and Ty across Main Divide to descend Motorway, while Estelle and Cory returned via Maple Springs Road.
