Website, Saturday Ride, VQ Video

Greetings again!

And salutations! The first time I sent you an update on the Warriors happenings was 10 days ago. To me, that seems so long ago. Since then, we’ve been very busy! Read on for what’s happened during these busy 10 days…

We have a new website!

Check it out at warriorsofsantaanas.org.

The old website will redirect to this new one. And you can access the old site in our menu, so our past ride write ups and reports are still available.

Make sure to view the Trail Reports section to see all we’ve done since 2025!

We have events!

And they’re pre-scheduled because we’re pros.

We kicked off our first social ride by celebrating the February full moon. A group of us pedaled up Blackstar Canyon to watch the sun set from a hill below Hagador Peak. Then under the moonlight, we descended Two Monkeys, like monkeys.

Check out the full video report of this ride in case you missed it!

Saturday Clean Up and Ride!

Speaking of pre-scheduled events, come join us this coming Saturday.

On Saturday, February 14th, we are going to pedal up from Maple Springs Trailhead to Four Corners and pick up trash. Then we’ll ride to the summit(s) of our peaks. And, who knows, maybe we’ll catch another sunset.

VisionQuest promo video!

VisionQuest is April 25. You’ve seen the course map. Now here’s a teaser video to get you psyched. Yes, I had to get up quite early to capture that sun rise timelapse on Modjeska Peak. Worth it!

We have been filling our VQ spots and space is limited to 50 riders. If you want to ride make sure to let us know ASAP.

More VisionQuest info on the website.

Forest Access and Org

We have engaged with the Forest Service. We will be meeting with the rangers in person at the end of this month. Our goal is to get into our currently closed trails and begin rehab, as well as understand how to best work with the Forest Service.

On the org side of things, have filed more paperwork and know more about tax code than we want. But we are on our way to 501(c)(3)!

Your organization officers are:

  • Darshan “Monkeybrains” Ahluwalia, President

  • Val “Moneybags” Vanderpool, Treasurer

  • Keith “Plays in Dirt” Eckstein, Secretary

Please reach out for any questions or comments.

And as always, if you’re inspired but what we’re doing and what to support your Santa Ana mountains, please do not hesitate to donate. Or reach out if you would to support us in another way.

Also, if you do this newsletter is not relevant to you, please unsubscribe (link at bottom of this email).

We’ll send another update at the end of this month and we’ll limit use of this newsletter to 2-3 times a month at most.
